Jawbone UP24

Jawbone UP users will be happy to know that they no longer need to take the band off and plug it into their smartphone to sync data. The new Jawbone UP24 is an updated version of the Jawbone UP, a wrist-worn activity tracker for fitness enthusiasts and others who want to be motivated to improve their health by exercising more, by being more conscious about eating choices, and by improving sleep hygeine. We may start seeing some used Jawbone UPs on eBay as users choose to upgrade to the new UP24.

From a glance, the UP24 may look very similar to the UP. But, the key difference is that UP24 wirelessly syncs with your iOS smartphone (using Bluetooth 4.0 or Bluetooth Low Energy) so that you can access your activity stats at any time.

The Jawbone UP mobile app has been updated to version 3.0. Keep in mind that it looks like Jawbone will continue to sell the original UP for $129.99 and they've priced the new UP24 at $149.99, so make sure you order the right model if you go shopping.

You'll need to carry a special USB charging cable to keep your UP or UP24 charged up, but since the battery lasts 7 to 10 days, you don't need to charge every day. The device isn't waterproof, so don't go swimming with it.
